This research is entitled The Ability to Write Descriptive Text Based on Mind Mapping Patterned Pictures of Class VII MTS Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru Students. The background of this research is to find out what is the level of ability to write descriptive text based on mind mapping pattern images? The aim of this research is to determine the level of ability to write descriptive text based on mind mapping patterned images. The object of this research was class VII students at MTS Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru with a sample size of 127 students. This research method is quantitative using descriptive analysis techniques. The data collection technique used was a written skills test. The data analysis technique uses descriptive statistical analysis techniques. The average result of the ability to write descriptive text based on mind mapping patterned images for class VII MTS Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru students is 79.85 in the good category.
