Pematuhan Dan Pelanggaran Prinsip Kesantunan Berbahasa Dalam Komentar Postingan Instagram @Mahasiswa_Universitasriau

This study aims to describe the compliance and violation of language politeness in the comments of @universitasriau Instagram posts. This type of research is qualitative with descriptive method. The data of this research are the compliance and violation of politeness principles contained in the comments of @mahasiswa_universitasriau Instagram posts from July 2022 to September 2023. The post topics used are all news about Riau University and viral news uploaded, the posts used have at least 20 comments. Promotional advertising posts on Instagram @mahasiswa_universitasriau were not used as a data source, due to the lack of comments on the upload. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that in this research there are 5 maxims of politeness principles that are obeyed and 4 maxims that are not obeyed from 6 types of Leech's politeness principle maxims. The stages of the method used are three stages, namely the first stage, screnshooting the data (capturing the comments contained in the Instagram posts of riau university students), the second stage looking for the type of politeness contained in the post comments and the third stage doing the note method.
