Efektivitas Pendekatan Kontekstual Objek Langsung Dalam Menulis Puisi Bebas Siswa Kelas X Sma Dharma Loka Kota Pekanbaru
This research aims to see the effectiveness of the direct object contextual method on learning to write poetry for class X SMA Dharma Loka students. The population in this study were all class X SMA Dharma Loka students with a sample of 48 students. The samples in this study were taken from two classes, namely class X1 as the experimental class and class X2 as the control class. The type of research is experimental. The instrument used is a test. The hypothesis data analysis technique was first tested for Shapiro-Wilk normality and homogeneity test, the test used the Wilcoxon test. The test results for the two samples came from a population that was not normally distributed but had a homogeneous distribution, thus the researcher gave treatment to both samples. From the results of data analysis, it was found that the average learning outcomes of students who were treated using thedirect object contextual method was 80.5 and the average learning outcomes of students who were treated

with the conventional learning model using the lecture method was 72.25. Hypothesis testing was carried out using the Wilcoxon test, from the calculation results it was obtained that Asymp.Sig (2-tailed) was 0.000. Because the value 0.000 < 0.05, Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning that there is a difference in the average value of the pretest and posttest learning outcomes. So it can be concludedthat the contextual object learning method is directly effective for learning to write poetry.
