Identifikasi Jenis Dan Kepadatan Populasi Cacing Tanah Di Perkebunan Salak Desa Sialogo Kabupaten Tapanuli Selatan Pada Sistem Pengelolaan Lahan Yang Berbeda
Salak is one of the most widely cultivated and economically valuable crops in Indonesia. Some salak plantations use monoculture and polyculture systems and use chemical fertilizers. In biological studies, the difference in management systems affects the presence of soil animals in it, one of which is earthworms. Earthworms play an important role in improving soil structure. This study aims to determine the type and density of earthworms in the salak plantation of Sialogo Village, South Tapanuli Regency. This research was conducted from January to February 2024. The method used was random sampling with a plot size of 30x30x30 cm as many as
20 pieces at two stations, earthworm sampling technique by hand sorting. Identification was done macroscopically by looking at the morphology of earthworms using a magnifying glass. Soil physical and chemical parameters were also observed. Data were analyzed using the density formula and T test was conducted to compare density values at two stations. The results showed that there were three species of earthworms found, namely Pontoscolex corethrurus, Pheretima sp. and Lumbricus sp. The value of earthworm population density in monoculture and polyculture land was 198.15/m3 and 57.41/m3. The results of the T-test analysis showed that there was a significant difference between the population density of earthworms at the two research stations.
