Perbandingan Efektivitas Penggunaan Peroxide Pada Serat Pulp Dengan Variasi Charge Peroxide 3 Kg/Adt Vs Peroxide 6 Kg/Adt
Bleaching process is an important step to increase the brightness of pulp. In Bleaching process, there are various methode and one of them is peroxide extraction that using peroxide. This peroxide extraction can increase brightness with attacking the cromophore group in pulp and resulting high brightness. Way to do this process is by adding NaOH first and then continued with peroxide into the plastic seal that already filled with sample. After that, sample will go into the waterbath process with the determined parameters. However, excessive use of peroxide can damage the fiber, affecting the viscotiy and kappa number of the fiber. This experimental method is carried out by conducting a bleaching process using two different doses, namely variations in charge peroxide of 3 Kg / ADT and 6 Kg / ADT with a fixed variable of NaOH which is 9 Kg / ADT. This process uses a retention time of 90 minutes at 80°C using a waterbath. Samples that have been calculated for consistency are then weighed as much as 100 gr OD and put into a plastic seal. The sample is then added water, peroxide and NaOH according to the dose studied and put into the waterbath according to the conditions to be achieved. After conducting research, it is known that the variation of 3 Kg / ADT has optimal results in the bleaching process compared to the variation of peroxide 6 Kg / ADT. This is known by the higher viscosity and kappa number values of 644-661 mL/g and 1,78-2,19 even though it has a lower brightness than the 6 Kg/ADT variation, which is 79,8-8,43 %ISO.
