Status Mutu Air Di Sungai Siak Kota Pekanbaru Pada Kondisi Surut

The Siak River is the largest river located in Riau Province. The industrial sector and community activities in the Siak River Basin are the causes of pollution in the Siak River. This research was carried out in July–August 2023 to determine water quality status and pollution levels using the pollution index method. The water quality parameters measured are physical (temperature, brightness, TSS, and depth), chemical (pH, dissolved oxygen, BOD, COD, and phosphate), and biological (Fecal coliform). The results showed that the Siak River was categorized as moderately polluted, with pollution index values in the range of 6–8. The results of Fecal coliform measurements ranging from 54.000 to 240.000 mg/L and dissolved oxygen 3,2 to 4,75 mg/L have exceeded the quality standard limit. Other water quality parameters are still within class III quality standards, according to Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. 22 of 2021. Thus, it is necessary to control the level of water pollution in the Siak River.
