Tarung Strategi Kandidat Pada Pemilihan Bupati Kabupaten Tapanuli Selatan Tahun 2020 Di Kecamatan Sipirok

Strategy is defined as all actions taken by an organization to achieve predetermined goals and objectives. This research discusses Candidate Strategy Battles in the 2020 South Tapanuli Regency Regent Election in Sipirok District. The aim of this research is to describe the strategic battle between the candidate pair Muhammad Yusuf Siregar - Roby Agusman Harahap and Dolly Putra Parlindungan Pasaribu - Rasyid Assaf Dongoran in the 2020 South Tapanuli Regional Election in Sipirok District.
The theory used in this research is Peter Schroder's Offensive and Defensive Political Strategy which is used to achieve victory by utilizing Pierre Bourdieu's modalities. This research uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques namely interview techniques, documentation and literature study. For data sources regarding candidate fighting strategies in the regional head election of South Tapanuli Regency using a descriptive qualitative research approach.
The results of the research explain that in the strategic battle of candidates in the 2020 South Tapanuli Regency Regent election, a political strategy is needed from the candidates to maximize the modalities they have. The modalities needed in regional election candidate strategies consist of Social Capital, Economic Capital, Cultural Capital, Political Capital. The candidate pair who has a good strategy and is able to maximize the modalities they have is the winner in the political contestation being carried out.
