Pengembangan E-Modul Berbasis Bounded Inquiry Laboratory Pada Materi Sistem Ekskresi Kelas Viii Untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Konsep Dan Motivasi Belajar Siswa Smp
CICI NURFITASARI, NIM. 2010242059, Development of E-Module Based on Bounded Inquiry Laboratory Class VIII Excretory System Material to Improve Concept Understanding and Learning Motivation of Junior High School, supervised by Fitra Suzanti and Azhar.
21st century learning and the 2013 curriculum require the world of education to integrate technology in the learning process. The quality of education in Indonesia is still worrying and the excretory system material is categorized as difficult to understand and quite boring. The lack of learning innovation in the form of teaching materials and variations in learning models in schools affects students' understanding of concepts and learning motivation. So an e-module based on bounded inquiry laboratory on excretory system material was developed which is expected to increase students' conceptual understanding and learning motivation. This research aims to produce a bounded inquiry laboratory based e-module on excretory system material that is valid, practical and effective to increase student understanding of concepts and learning motivation. The hypothesis of this research is that the bounded inquiry laboratory based e-module on excretory system material is effective in increasing students' conceptual understanding and learning motivation.
This research design uses Research & Development (R&D) research and the development model used is the ADDIE model which consists of 5 development stages, namely the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation stages. The e-module that has been developed is then implemented at SMPN 13 Pekanbaru. Samples were taken using random sampling technique. The instruments used were questionnaires in the form of checklists and multiple choice question test sheets. The instrument used was a questionnaires and tests. Data analysis techniques are into descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. Descriptive analysis was carried out using the average score from the validation sheet, practicality and learning motivation. Inferential analysis was carried out using SPSS to analyze hypotheses using multivariate tests (MANOVA).
The results of the research show that at the analysis stage an analysis of needs, curriculum and materials was carried out. In the analysis stage, it was found that the excretory system material was categorized as difficult to understand and quite boring, there was a lack of learning innovation in the form of teaching materials and variations in learning models in schools, thus affecting students' understanding of concepts and learning motivation. Then the main material for discussing the excretory system, tasks and learning objectives is determined. The design stage was carried out by designing the e-module according to the format from the Ministry of Education and Culture 2017 by entering the syntax of the bounded inquiry laboratory model. The development stage was carried out with validation tests and practicality tests. Based on the validation results, the e-module is declared valid. Next, the e-module is tested for practicality using one-on-one testing and small group testing. Based on the practicality test, the e-module was declared practical and suitable for use. E-modules that are suitable for use then enter the implementation stage to see the results of students' understanding of concepts and learning motivation. Each stage of this research was evaluated. Before implementation, cognitive normality and homogeneity tests were first carried out with normal and homogeneous data results. Implementation was carried out with the experimental class using an e-module based on the bounded inquiry labs model and the control class using the 2017 revised K13 printed book. The results of the concept understanding test and learning motivation questionnaire showed that the average score for the experimental class was higher than the control class. It can be concluded that science learning by applying the Bounded Inquiry Laboratory Model-Based E-Module to the Excretory System material is effective in increasing students' conceptual understanding and learning motivation.
