This research discusses the ability to write persuasive texts for students in class VIII C and VIII D MTs Tahfizh Ilmu Pekanbaru. This research aims to determine and describe writing abilities in terms of structural aspects and the ability to use linguistic rules in writing persuasive texts for class VIII students at MTs Tahfizh Scholar Pekanbaru for the 2022/2023 academic year. This research method is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The sampling technique is by using a purposive sampling technique. The data source for this research is all students in class VIII C and VIII D with a sample size of 36 people. Research data was obtained through a writing test. Research data was analyzed based on the assessment indicators in the research instrument. Based on the results of research that has been conducted, students' ability to write persuasive texts in the structural aspect is in the high category with an average of 85. Students' ability to write persuasive texts using linguistic rules is in the high category with an average of 90. So, it can be concluded The ability to write persuasive texts for students in class VIII C and VIII D MTs Tahfizh Scholar Pekanbaru, namely 86 which is in the high category.
