Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Pbl-Ssi Materi Asam Basa Terhadap Kemampuan Literasi Sains Dan Curiosity Peserta Didik Sma Filiasofia
JUMADI SIHOMBING, NIM. 2010241975, The Effect of the PBL-SSI Learning Model on Acid-Base Material on the Scientific Literacy and Curiosity Abilities of Filiasofia High School Students, guided by Jimmi Copriady and Asmadi M. Noer.
We are now in the 21st century which is marked by increasingly rapid and complex world development. Various changes occur in the fields of knowledge, technology and information globally which are aimed at improving the quality of life of modern society. However, along with the benefits felt by society, negative impacts have also emerged, such as global warming, the energy crisis and environmental damage. Therefore, people are expected to have an understanding of scientific facts and the relationship between science, technology and society. However, based on the PISA study, the scientific literacy scores of Indonesian students are still relatively low. This is because students assume there is no connection between scientific concepts and everyday life, which has an impact on their low curiosity. The aim of this research is to improve students' scientific literacy skills and curiosity after implementing the PBL-SSI learning model on acid-base material in class XI Filiasofia High School Pekanbaru.
This type of research is quasi-experimental with a research design namely Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The population is students in class XI SMA Filiasofia Pekanbaru which consists of 2 classes. To see the homogeneity of the data, the similarity of averages test, namely the Mann Whitney test, was used. The technique used for sampling was cluster purposive sampling and the experimental class was found to be XI A and the control class to be determine the difference in increasing scientific literacy abilities and curiosity of students in experimental classes based on cognitive abilities.
The results of the hypothesis test obtained an average increase in scientific literacy and curiosity scores for the experimental class of 61.77 and 29.54. Meanwhile, the average increase in scientific literacy and curiosity scores for the control class was 52.59 and 10.58. Based on the test results, it is known that the increase in scientific literacy skills and curiosity in the experimental class was better than the control class. In other words, it can be concluded that the PBL-SSI learning model is able to increase students' scientific literacy skills and curiosity in acid-base material at Filiasofia Pekanbaru High School and there is a significant difference in increasing scientific literacy abilities and students' curiosity between the high cognitive ability groups, medium, and low in the experimental class at Filiasofai High School Pekanbaru.
