Pengaruh Media Simpan Dan Lama Penyimpanan Terhadap Daya Kecambah Biji Cempedak (Artocarpus Integer (Thunb.) Merr)

Cempedak seeds are recalcitrant, so it cannot be stored at high temperatures and humidity. Seed storage techniques need to be used to maintain viability during storage. Important factors in storage techniques are storage media and storage time. The aim of this research are to look at the interaction of storage media and appropriate storage time in cempedak seed storage techniques. This research is conducted from December 2023 to March 2024. This research method used a completely randomized factorial design, where the first factor was storage media and the second factor was storage time. The parameters observed in this research were seed color, percentage of intact seeds, germination percentage, germination time, and vigor index. Data analysis used analysis of variance at the 5% level and DMRT further test at the 5% level. The results showe that the interaction of storage media with storage time had a significant effect on the percentage of intact seeds, germination percentage and vigor index but had no significant effect on germination time. Storing cempedak seeds in sawdust media for 2 weeks resulted in the best seed viability with a percentage of whole seeds of 96%, a percentage of seed germination of 96% and a vigor index of 0.96.
