Indonesia has considerable solar energy potential because tropical countries are located right on the equator. Indonesia's average solar energy potential is around
4.8 kWh/m2 per day, with monthly variations of around 9%. One use of solar energy is through solar power plants. This utilization will be an alternative to replacing fossil energy with environmentally friendly energy. The Lana will be a luxury apartment building located in the Alam Sutera area. The building, consisting of two structures, is expected to use very large amounts of electrical energy, with the main electricity supply from PLN having a capacity of 2000 kVA and 1600 kVA. The building's power backup system will be supplied by a diesel generator set with a capacity of 2250 kVA. This study aims to design and propose the solar power plant as a power backup system in the Lana apartment building to replace the function of diesel generators. The solar power plant has a capacity of
2997.28 kWp, a battery bank with a capacity of 50,160 Ah, and an inverter with a capacity of 3500 kW. The number of PV modules is 4576 units (22-series and 208- parallel), 462 batteries (11-series and 42-parallel), and 14 inverters arranged in parallel. The area of the PV array is estimated at 17,183.93 m2. The production of electrical energy from the solar power plant is the energy received (YR) through theoretical calculations of 5,255,250.92 kWh/year and the energy produced (YF) through HOMER Pro simulation of 4,165,251.97 kWh/year. The solar power plants performance ratio value is 79.23%, indicating that the solar power plant is suitable for operation.
