Prototipe Smart Traffic Light Berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) untuk Penanggulangan Kemacetan

Traffic lights is a traffic control tool at intersections and are useful for regulating smooth traffic at intersections to avoid traffic jams. Current traffic lights still have a weakness, namely the fixed duration of the light timing at each intersection. This weakness is what causes traffic jams that often occur at road intersections. Congestion also occurs at certain hours, for example when going to work and when leaving work. This research aims to reduce the level of congestion that occurs at traffic lights. This system uses a NodeMCU Esp8266 microcontroller and 8 proximity sensors, where at each intersection there are 2 proximity sensors as traffic jam detectors. If the proximity sensor does not detect a vehicle, then the conditions at the intersection are in the quiet category and the green light timing is 20 seconds. If only 1 proximity sensor at the front detects a vehicle, then the conditions at the intersection are categorized as congestion level 1 and the green light timing automatically increases by 5 seconds to 25 seconds. And if the 2 proximity sensors detect a vehicle, then the conditions at the intersection are categorized as congestion level 2 and the green light timing is automatically increased by 10 seconds to 30 seconds. Everything that happens at each intersection is sent to the web so that vehicle users can see the conditions that occur at each intersection.
