Potensi Bakteri Endofit Kulit Buah Sentul (Sandoricum Koetjape) Sebagai Antifungi Ganoderma Boninense
Basal Stem Rot in oil palm tree caused by Ganoderma sp. is the most destructive disease for both adult and young plants in Indonesia. The use of endophytic bacteria as biocontrol agents has several advantages such as relatively cheap prices, easy application, and environmental friendly. The research was conducted to isolated and tested the antifungal activity of endophytic bacteria of Sentul fruit skin (S. koetjape) from Riau University Open Space Field against fungi G. boninense. Sentul fruit skin endophytic bacteria were isolated and purified in NA media. Next, the endophytics bacteria were tested for their antifungal activity using the agar diffusion method on PDA media which had been inoculated with the target fungus using a pour plate method. The result of antifungal activity with agar diffusion method showed that isolates of sentul fruit skin endophytic bacteria had weak inhibitory power against the fungus G. boninense. A total of 5 isolates of endophytic bacteria that were successfully isolated, only 3 isolates that produced a cloudy clear zone where the average clear zone produced was around 0,18-0,27 cm.
Key findings: Antifungal, Biocontrol, Endophytic Bacteria, G. boninense, S. koetjape
