Keanekaragaman Jenis Gymnospermae Di Pekanbaru, Riau Berdasarkan Karakter Morfologi
Gymnosperm is closed or naked seed plant because the seed is not enclosed in the ovary. This plant group has various morphological characters. This study aims to determine the diversity of Gymnospermae species in Pekanbaru, Riau based on morphological characters. Sampling was done by exploration method, herbarium was made to help identification and morphological characterization. Morphological characters are presented in images and tables, scoring is carried out before being analyzed using NTSYSpc.21 application to obtain the similarity coefficient and construct dendrogram. The results showed a total of 10 species of Gymnospermae plants belonging to six families which are divided into three classes (Cycadopsida, Coniferopsida, and Gnetopsida) and further divided into six orders namely Cycadales, Araucariales, Pinales, Cupressales, Podocarpales, and Gnetales. The species found are Cycas rumphii, Cycas revoluta, Zamia furfuracea, Araucaria heterophylla, Pinus merkusii, Pinus strobus, Thuja occidentalis, Cupressus sempervirens, Gnetum gnemon, and Podocarpus macrophyllus. The morphological characteristics of each species Gymnospermae in this study vary within the same genus, such as in habitus characters, branching type, leaf type, leaf reinforcement type, and strobilus. The dendrogram is divided into two group I and II at a coefficient value of 0,31. The similarity coefficient ranges from 0,19 to 0,67. Dendrogram shows that each group is clustered based on stature type, stem morphology, leaves, seeds, and strobilus.
Key findings: Exploration, Gymnosperms, identification, classification, morphology.
