The background of this research is that the community borders the Tesso Nilo National Park forest area, where the park is a conservation area for elephants and several protected animals in it. In the Pelalawan district, Riau province, to be precise in Bagan Limau Village, Ukui District. This research is based on how communities with their local wisdom can apply local wisdom values as a whole.
By understanding Klachoen's opinion that the basic elements of a culture are created due to habits and strengthened by the creation of technology. The results of this culture in everyday life, looking at the people who live on the forest border. How society can continue a social life and control its economy well. By planting oil palms you can live side by side with elephants. If elephants enter their territory, the community is able to find ways not to harm the animals and can coexist as they should.
Communities in this area very often have protected animals, namely Sumatran elephants, which destroy their plantations, but with the wisdom and wisdom of the existing community, they can live side by side without hurting each other with the conditions and the way the community controls the situation and understands the existing conditions.
