Efek Pemberian Ekstrak Buah Pare (Momordica Charantia L.) Terhadap Kadar Glukosa Darah Tikus Putih(Rattus Norvegicus B.)
Bitter melon (Momordica charantia L.) is a tropical plant that has various benefits, one of which is lowering blood glucose levels. The components that can reduce blood glucose levels in bitter melon fruit are momordicin, charantin, and polypeptide-p. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of bitter melon extract on the blood glucose levels of white rats. The research used a Complete Random Design which was divided into 1 control of treatment and 3 treatments of giving extract doses, namely 300 mg/kg BW, 600 mg/kg BW, and 900 mg/kg BW. Data were analyzed by ANOVA and Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results of the research showed that administration of bitter melon fruit extract had the ability to reduce blood glucose levels in mice, and the P3 dose was the dose that had the highest ability to reduce blood glucose levels in mice, namely from 126.5 mg/dl to 65.25 mg/dl.
