Analisis Sufiks Penanda Biaya Dalam Bahasa Jepang (~Chin, ~Hi, ~Ryou, ~Dai, Dan ~Kin)

In Japanese, many words share the same meaning but are written with
different kanji characters. Additionally, the usage of these words in sentences can
vary depending on morphological structure and sentence context. The meaning of
the word "cost" in Japanese can be expressed with the kanji chin (賃), hi (費), ryou
(料), dai (代), and kin (金) when these five kanji are used as suffixes in vocabulary.
However, determining which suffix is most appropriate for a given word can be
very challenging.
This research aims to analyse the usage of cost-indicating suffixes in
Japanese, focusing on the morphological and semantic characteristics of these kanji.
The research employs qualitative and descriptive methods. Data sources include the
Japanese book "The Art of Language: Prefixes and Suffixes in Japanese" by
Timothy J. Vance, printed Japanese dictionaries, online Japanese dictionaries from
the website jisho.org, Japanese news websites, and the internet. Data collection
methods include observation, listening, and note-taking.
The results of this study indicate that no suffix is completely
interchangeable in its usage. The study also reveals that each suffix has its own
distinct characteristics. Not all base words can be attached to the available suffixes.
Similar characteristics and meaning components do not guarantee that words can
be substituted for one another and used interchangeably in everyday language.
