Aplikasi Briket Biochar Dengan Pupuk Urea Dalam Mengontrol Kehilangan Nitrogen Pada Kayu Putih (Melaleuca Cajuputi)
The demand for Melaleuca cajuputi oil in Indonesia has not been sufficient. Efforts can be made to increase production and meet the needs of Melaleuca cajuputi oil raw materials by increasing growth through fertilization and reducing nutrient losses, especially nitrogen. Biochar briquettes have the potential to reduce nitrogen loss (NL) in the soil. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability and best composition of biochar briquettes with urea fertilizer for growth and control nitrogen loss in Melaleuca cajuputi. The research was conducted using a 2-factorial completely randomized design (CRD). Factor I was biochar briquettes (0, 20 and 40 g/kg) and factor II was urea fertilizer (0, 0.25 and 0.50 g/kg). The observation parameters were height increment, diameter increment, sturdiness value, plant nitrogen and nitrogen loss (NL). The results showed that the application of biochar briquettes with urea fertilizer was able to increase growth and control nitrogen loss in Melaleuca cajuputi. The best treatment was 40 g/kg biochar briquettes with 0.5 g/kg urea fertilizer with height gain of 26.11 cm, diameter gain of 2.38 mm, sturdiness value of 8.21, plant nitrogen of 1.36 g and nitrogen loss (NL) of 1.06 g.
