COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION IN ORDER AND CLEANLINESS IN GREEN OPEN SPACE PUTRI KACA MAYANG PEKANBARU CITY

ABSTRACT

Putri Kaca Mayang Green Open Space (RTH) is one of the green areas in the center of Pekanbaru City. Putri Kaca Mayang Green Open Space has its own attraction for the people of Pekanbaru City to visit. With the construction of Putri Kaca Mayang Green Open Space, Pekanbaru City looks more beautiful and gives a natural impression in the midst of urban density. Of course, in every public tourist spot maintaining order and cleanliness there is very important so that other visitors can enjoy the beauty of the park. The purpose of this study is to find out how the form of community participation in order and cleanliness in the Green Open Space (RTH) Putri Kaca Mayang Pekanbaru City. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods according to the concept of community participation theory. In the data collection method, researchers use interview, observation and documentation methods. The results of the study show that Community Participation in Order and Cleanliness at Putri Kaca Mayang RTH is still not optimal. It can be seen from the many people who are not orderly when they are in the park area and the amount of garbage scattered in every corner of the park. The inhibiting factors in order and cleanliness in Putri Kaca Mayang's Green Open Space (RTH) are the lack of public awareness (visitors) of maintaining order and cleanliness in public places and the nature of individuals (lazy, very bodo, unwilling to change) towards order and cleanliness in the public environment. This is due to the lack of firmness of the local government and awareness from the community in the Green Open Space (RTH) Putri Kaca Mayang Pekanbaru City so that order and cleanliness in the park have not been maximized.
