Lama Penyulingan Daun Serai Wangi Menggunakan Metode Distilasi Uap Dan Air Di Cv. Tani Pelita Kita, Kabupaten Pasaman Barat
The research aims to obtain citronella essential oil with the best time in the distillation process using steam and water distillation methods. This research was carried out experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of four treatments and four replications to obtain 16 experimental units. that the observation data for the treatment in the study was distillation of citronella leaves where P1 (distillation time 2 hours), P2 (distillation time 4 hours), P3 (distillation time 6 hours), and P4 (distillation time 8 hours). The data obtained were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued with Duncan's multiple range test (DMRT) at the 5% level if F count ≥ F table. The results showed that the difference in distillation time of citronella leaves had a significant effect (P < 0.05) on yield, color, specific gravity, refractive index and citronella content. The best treatment in this study was P3 (distillation time 6 hours) which produced yellow citronella ssoil, yield 0.106%, specific gravity 0.8850, refractive index 1.469, and citronellal content 36.51%.
