Karakteristik Briket Arang Ampas Tebu Dan Arang Cangkang Buah Karet
Sugarcane bagasse and rubber fruit shells are agricultural industrial waste that contain biomass as an alternative energy source. Sugarcane bagasse and rubber fruit shells contain a lot of lignin and cellulose which can be used as material for making charcoal briquettes. The aim of this research was to obtain the best charcoal ratio from a mixture of bagasse charcoal and rubber fruit shells to the quality of briquettes based on Indonesian national standards. This research was conducted experimentally using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) which consist of five treatments and four replications. Treatments based on the ratio of bagasse charcoal (A) and rubber fruit shells (C) include: AC1 (10:90), AC2 (20:80), AC3 (30:70), AC4 (40:60), and AC5 (50:50). Data were statistically analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and then continued with Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at 5% level. The results of variance analysis showed that the ratio of bagasse charcoal and rubber fruit shell charcoal had a significant effect on all observation parameters. The results of the research showed that the results of the selected treatment were AC3 (30:70) which had a water content of 6,30%, ash content of 7,55%, volatile matter content of 7,28%, carbon content bound 78,87%, and calorific value 6237,54 cal/g.
