Karakteristik Briket Arang Buah Bintaro Dengan Penambahan Arang Pelepah Kelapa Sawit
Bintaro fruit and oil palm frond are biomass waste that can be used in the form of charcoal briquettes as an alternative energy source because they contain lignin and cellulose. The purpose of this study was to obtain the best character briquettes from a combination of bintaro fruit charcoal and palm frond charcoal. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) which consisted of five treatments and three replications. The treatment in this study included comparisons of bintaro fruit charcoal and palm frond charcoal 90:10, 80:20, 70:30, 60:40, and 50:50. Data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and then continued with Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level. The results of the analysis showed that the ratio of bintaro fruit charcoal and oil palm frond charcoal had a significant effect on water content, ash content, volatile matter content, value of heat, but had no significant effect on fixed carbon content. The best treated briquettes were (80:20) with a water content of 4.05%, an ash content of 7.31%, a volatile matter content of 13.37%, a fixed carbon content of 75.28% and a value of heat of 5.154 cal/g.
