Bagworms attack many oil palm plantations in Riau Province especially PTPN V Sei Galuh Kampar Regency. The abundance of bagworm pest population in an oil palm plantation ecosystem is important to be observed to carry out effective control efforts. This study aims to obtain the type and population of bagworms in oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) plants produce in PTPN V Sei Galuh Kampar Regency Riau Province. This study was conducted by survey, determination of research location using purposive sampling method, and determination of plant samples using systematic sampling method with transect pattern. Observations include agroecosystems, types of bagworms, types and populations of bagworms, types and populations of male imago bagworms, position of bagworms in the midrib, the percentage of bagworms, the intensity of the attack, temperature, humidity, and rainfall. The data obtained are tabulated as tables and graphs and presented in descriptive form. The results showed that the types and populations of bagworms obtained at PTPN V Sei Galuh are Metisa plana 423 tails, Clania tertia 53 tails, Mahasena corbetti 8 tails, and Brachycyttarus griseus 3 tails. The position of bagworms dominates the lower midrib (midrib ≥ 34) as many as 451 and the tip of the midrib as many as 389.
