Analisis Perbandingan Transformasi Struktural Dan Ketimpangan Pembangunan Wilayah Pesisir Dan Wilayah Daratan Di Provinsi Riau
This research aims to determine the comparison of structural transformation and development inequality that occurred in the Coastal Region and the Mainland Region in Riau Province. The data used is secondary data collected from publications or data published by BPS which includes district/city GDP data for 2012-2022, population projections for 2012-2022, and several other supporting data. The structural transformation that occurs is calculated using the dynamic location quotient (DLQ) and Esteben's Shift Share and to see inequality it is calculated using the Williamson and Theil Index. Apart from that, various graphical visualizations were also used, displaying the Klassen Typology and Kuznets' Inverted U Hypothesis.
The results of the analysis using DLQ in the two half-terms of the Mainland Region in the primary category group, almost all city districts no longer have development potential (non-priority), on the other hand, several city districts in the secondary category group have moved to having development potential (priority). In the Coastal Area, only some have left the primary category group, others still have development potential (priority) and the secondary category group, especially the processing industry category, has moved towards having development potential. By using the Esteben Mainland Region shift share, the primary category group, most of the city districts except Pekanbaru City, still have competitive advantages and specialization; Secondary category groups, especially industrial categories, do not yet have competitive advantages and specialization. Coastal areas in the primary category group still have some competitive advantages and specialization and most of the secondary category groups do not yet have competitive advantages and specialization. Furthermore, if we look at inequality using the Williamson Index and Theil Index which occurs every year during 2012-2022 both in Riau Province and in city districts, the inequality that occurs is still on a low scale. Another thing, the Kuznets hypothesis with its inverted U, whether comparing it with the Williamson or Theil Index, still cannot be proven..
