Demitefikasi Tokoh Rahwana Dalam Dwilogi Novel Rahvayana: Aku Lala Padamu Dan Ada Yang Tiada Karya Sujiwo Tejo
This research is motivated by the many writers who are inspired by old stories, thus creating a new and fresher literary work. Sujiwo Tejo as a reader of the Ramayana epic which he absorbed through a new work with the Ramayana hypogram. This research was conducted through text and documentation studies. This is because the data source used is the duology novel Rahvayana: Aku Lala Padamu and Ada yang Tiada by Sujiwo Tejo. The data that has been found is then collected from the data source. This study uses a qualitative method using a study of reception aesthetics. This study is to describe 1) the stereotype of the Rahwana character contained in the Ramayana epic, 2) the counter-myth contained in the Rahvayana dwilogy and 3) the demythification of the Rahwana character which is connected to intrinsic elements. The results of the research contained 102 data which showed that 1) the stereotype of the character Rahwana who is powerful, greedy and obsessed with wealth, throne and women is still maintained in the two novels. 2) the author also created a counter-myth by making the character Ravana the main character who is persistent, patient and loves Sinta sincerely and 3) the theme, plot, setting, other characters, language style, point of view and message influence the demytification of the character Rahwana.
