Evaluasi Sistem Proteksi Relai Arus Lebih Sistem Kelistrikan 6,3 Kv Auxiliary Pltu Tenayan 2 X 110 Mw
Electrical components must be protected using an appropriate protection system, one of which involves using overcurrent relays. However, relay settings may not be field-tested if the relay does not operate. Due to the limited disturbance data available in the field, the installed protection cannot be tested for relay performance. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the existing condition of the overcurrent relay protection system based on sensitivity and selectivity in the 6.3 kV electrical system of PLTU Tenayan. This research method uses secondary data obtained from PLTU Tenayan, then evaluates the existing condition of overcurrent relays by simulating short circuit faults at certain points to determine the selectivity and sensitivity of the relays using ETAP 19.0.1 software. After evaluation, it was found that the coordination of several relays was incorrect in terms of their time settings. The relay operation time difference during motor start did not meet the IEEE C37.96.2000 standard, and the time grading between the main relay and the backup relay was still outside the time limits specified by the IEEE 242-1986 standard. In the relay sensitivity test using the relay operating sensitivity formula, all overcurrent relays were found to be sensitive to the simulated disturbances at the end points of each load with values above 1.
