Efektivitas Pupuk Organik Cair Terhadap Pertumbuhan Vegetatif Tanaman Okra (Abelmoschus Esculentus L.)
Liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) is an environmental friendly fertilizer alternative that can be given to plants by watering or spraying. Organic materials such as banana stem waste, coconut water, and rice water can be utilized as basic ingredients for making LOF because it has nutrients that can support plant growth. This study is conducted to determine the effective concentration and LOF application method to enhance the vegetative growth of okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L.). This research is conducted using a randomized block design (RBD) with 10 treatments and 5 replications. The treatment given is LOF concentration of 0, 50, 100, 150, 200 ml/L by watering and spraying. The data is analyzed using ANOVA and DMRT post hoc test at the 5% significance level. The results shows that the application of LOF has an effect on the vegetative growth of okra. The treatment of LOF concentration of 150 ml/L by spraying (P8) is effective in enhacing vegetative growth compared to other treatments and controls on plant height of 22.98 cm, stem diameter of 3.98 mm and fresh biomass of 14.14 g.
Key findings: Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L.), liquid organic fertilizer (LOF), vegetative growth.
