Jenis Dan Jumlah Sampah Laut (Marine Debris) Di Desa Sinaboi Kecil Kecamatan Sinaboi Kabupaten Rokan Hilir Provinsi Riau
The lack of public and government awareness in preserving the ecosystem can be seen in the presence of marine debris. The increase in marine debris will pose a direct threat to wider ecosystem damage such as mangrove seedlings covered by marine debris material will result in mangrove seeds failing to germinate, reducing the beauty of coastal areas, causing various diseases that affect human health, affecting food networks in aquatic organisms. The purpose of this study was to determine the type and amount of marine debris in Sinaboi Kecil Village, Sinaboi District, Rokan Hilir Regency. This research was conducted in February - March 2024. Sampling was taken three times with an interval of two weeks, there were 4 research stations by making 3 transects at each station. Sample analysis was carried out insitu in Sinaboi Kecil Village. The results found 8 types of marine debris, namely plastic, cans, rubber, glass, nets, styrofoam, wood and leaves. Each station has a different amount of marine debris. The total amount of marine debris at station I 5,154 items/m2, station II 14,496 items/m2, station III 10,763 items/m2, station IV 3,413 items/m2 while the total weight of marine debris at station I 118,49 grams/m2, station II 231,46 grams/m2, station III 245,779 grams/m2, and station IV 69,858 grams/m2. The amount and weight of marine debris at each station had no significant difference.
