Peran Perempuan Penambang Emas Skala Kecil Dalam Meningkatkan Pendapatan Keluarga Di Desa Logas Kecamatan Singingi Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi
ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to find out the role, contribution, and obstacles faced by women small-scale gold miners in increasing family income in Logas Village, Singingi District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. This study uses primary and secondary data with census sampling technique as a sampling technique, which is as many as 9 people. The data analysis method used is quantitative descriptive. The results of the study show that small-scale gold miners play a role in increasing family income, as evidenced by their ability to meet household non-food needs. The role of women small-scale gold miners is also influenced by the number of hours worked. Even though they have the same number of working hours, it does not guarantee the same income as other women because it is influenced by other factors, namely age and physical condition. The contribution of small-scale gold miner women in increasing their family income is still relatively low. The obstacles faced in increasing family income are changes in weather, physical conditions, and the presence of children that still need to be considered because it will affect the number of working hours and income levels. In addition, the use of mercury in the mining process poses a risk of exposure to disease and damage to river water ecosystems.
