Prarancangan Pabrik Ammonium Nitrat Proses Uhde Dengan Desainalat Utama Evaporator (V – 102)
ABSTRACT
Ammonium Nitrate is a chemical that is often used as an explosive for coal mining, mineral mining, military explosives, and can also be used as fertilizer and anesthetic. Ammonium nitrate is formed from the neutralization reaction of ammonia and nitric acid using the UHDE process. Neutralization occurs in a bubble reactor. The ammonium nitrate output from the reactor flows into the evaporator to produce concentrated ammonium nitrate. The product then flows into the cooler before entering the prilling tower. Prill Ammonium nitrate is moved by belt conveyor to the coating drum to be coated with a coating agent to prevent cracking. The coated products are then put into silos and packaged in packaging units. The factory being established will operate for 330 days per year and work continuously for 24 hours with a capacity of 65,000 tons/year. The factory will be established in Cikampek, West Java. The company form applied is a Limited Liability Company (PT). The employee work system is based on the division of working hours consisting of shift and non-shift employees. The main equipment designed for the factory is a long tube vertical evaporator (V-102) which functions to evaporate the solvent to obtain ammonium nitrate with a concentration of 99.5%. This evaporator is operated at a pressure of 1 atm with a temperature of 160ᵒC. Economic analysis of the factory shows that the factory is feasible to establish with a Break Even Point (BEP) value of 40%, Payback Period (PBP) of 1 year 3 months, Rate of Investment (ROI) of 65.81%, and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 22.76%.
