Pemanfaatan Bottom Ash Sebagai Pengganti Sebagian Pasir Dalam Pembuatan Paving Block Dengan Penambahan Admixture Silica Fume
ABSTRACT
Large-scale waste production is triggered by increasing industrial activity and infrastructure development, the waste produced on a large scale is bottom ash and silica fume. Bottom ash and silica fume are wastes that have not been optimally utilized. Paving block is one of the paving constructions that are widely found in the community, but the development of road infrastructure triggers an increase in material requirements. So it is necessary to innovate the utilization of bottom ash and silica fume waste as an alternative raw material in the construction field, namely the manufacture of paving blocks or concrete, so as to reduce the consumption of natural resources and reduce the volume of waste produced. The purpose of this research is to analyze the compressive strength of paving blocks combined with variations of bottom ash and silica fume, and compare their quality with SNI 03-0691-1996. This research was carried out in the ratio of cement mixture to fine aggregate, namely 1:3 with variations of bottom ash 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and the addition of 5% silica fume with dimensions of 10 cm long, 10 cm wide, 6 cm thick and a treatment period of 28 days. The dependent variable is the compressive strength test which refers to SNI 03-0691-1996. The results showed that the optimal compressive strength value of paving blocks occurred in the variation of 30% bottom ash and 5% silica fume, which amounted to 13.2 Mpa. Based on the quality comparison with SNI 03-0691-1996, this research is categorized as quality C, namely as a parking lot.
