Analisis Kinerja Jaringan Akses Optik Hybrid Yang Menggabungkan Fiber To The Home (Ftth) Dan Radio Over Fiber (Rof)
ABSTRACT
Nowadays, communication is more important than ever, and having access to telecommunications services has become a necessary. Therefore, in order to support both the quantity of consumers who require access to the accessible information and the quality of information flow between customers, broadband transmission system services are required. Because fiber optic communication systems are highly efficient and have a large bandwidth, they can be used to solve these issues. Applications for this system include Radio over Fiber (RoF) and Fiber to the Home (FTTH). Since these two network systems are typically constructed independently, research into merging them into a hybrid network is necessary to ensure the continued effectiveness of the network.
Previous studies used the same wavelength to perform multiple sorts of network combinations, necessitating the creation of distinct components. In this study, a hybrid network design simulation is performed that combines FTTH and RoF utilizing Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM), requiring just the use of existing components, followed by performance analysis in the form of Q factor and Bit error rate. WDM was chosen for various reasons, including increased capacity, lower costs, flexibility, and scalability. The network is emulated with Optisystem, and there is a FTTH system from transmitter to receiver that includes OLT, ODF, ODC, ODP, and an ONT or customer device. Then there's a RoF system that supports Wireless Gigabyte (WiGig) communication with QAM modulation. The results of the FTTH network's simulations involving different fiber cable lengths indicate that it is feasible to meet good performance parameters, where the simulated performance value in the form of Q factor and bit error rate above the performance eligibility standard of 6 and 10-9. However, at certain cable lengths, the system performance has not met the feasibility in terms of RoF. Overall, the hybrid system with multiplexing offered can function with expected performance.
