PRARANCANGAN PABRIK ANILIN PROSES DUPONT/KELLOG BROWN AND ROOT DENGAN DESAIN ALAT UTAMA DESTILASI NITROBENZENA (D-101)
ABSTRACT
Aniline is an organic compound with the molecular formula C6H7N, which is included in aromatic compounds in the current industrial era, aniline has an important role and is widely used as an isocyanates producing material, rubber making chemicals, and pesticide making materials. The main raw materials used in the manufacture of aniline by the Dupont/Kellog Brown and Root process are nitrobenzene and hydrogen. The plant is planned to operate for 330 days per year and work continuously for 24 hours per day, with a capacity of 40,000 tons per year to be established in the city of Cilegon, Banten. The company form chosen is a Limited Liability Company with a line and staff organization system. The employee work system is based on the division of working hours consisting of shift and non-shift employees. The main equipment in this plant is the Reactor (R-103), which functions to hydrogenate nitrobenzene into aniline. This fixed bed reactor is operated at a pressure of 2.3 atm and a temperature of 250 ⁰C. The economic analysis in this plant design shows that this plant is feasible to establish. Break Event Point (BEP) value of 40%, Pay Back Period (PBP) for 2.8 years, Rate of Investment (ROI) of 26.1%, and Interest Rate of Return (IRR) of 22.73%.
Keywords: Aniline, Nitrobenzene, Hydrogenation Process, Fixed Bed Reactor.
