Pergeseran Orientasi Kerja Pada Keluarga Petani Di Desa Muara Uwai Kecamatan Bangkinang Kabupaten Kampar

This study aims to determine the work orientation of young people in farming families in Muara Uwai Village, Bangkinang District, Kampar Regency. The study was conducted using a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach and data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. The subjects of the study were 7 people consisting of 2 key subjects and 5 main subjects who were selected in a planned manner using purposive sampling techniques. The results of this study indicate that the reasons why young people avoid working as farmers and prefer work in the non-agricultural sector are influenced by income factors, location factors, risk considerations and education. Differences in young people's views on work in the agricultural sector and the informal sector (non-agriculture) are influenced by 3 indicators, namely income, work methods and work values. In terms of income, young people view the agricultural sector as only providing limited income and no certainty of income, while the informal sector (non-agriculture) is considered to be able to provide sufficient income and certainty of income. In terms of work methods, the agricultural sector is seen as hard, dirty work and still uses limited tools and technology, while the informal sector (non-agriculture) is considered not to require physical strength because it is supported by the use of sophisticated technology. In terms of work value, the agricultural sector is often seen as a less prestigious job while the informal sector (non-agriculture) is seen as a job that is widely appreciated by society. The factors causing the shift in work orientation are divided into 2 factors, namely internal factors influenced by education, lack of family socialization and lifestyle and external factors influenced by income/economy, agricultural image and achievement motivation.
