ABSTRACT

This research aims to determine the direct benefit value, indirect benefit value and total economic value of the Pagaruyung Village peatlands. Pagaruyung Village has a peatland area large enough to be used as agricultural land for the development of peatland pineapple commodities, which is one of the programs to overcome peatland damage and fires. This research analyzes data using quantitative descriptive analysis. The analysis used in this research uses Total Economic Value (TEV).The results of this research show that the direct benefit value from peatland is IDR 1.085.740.000.-, and the indirect benefit value from peatland is IDR 230,000,000.-, so the total economic value of Pagaruyung Village is IDR 1.315.740.000.. Utilizing peatlands for pineapple commodities increases people's income and can overcome land fires in Pagaruyung Village with the construction of drilled wells which are carried out in order to provide water reserves for the peatland wetting process.
