Kemampuan Menulis Teks Anekdot Siswa Kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Bangkinang Kota

The ability to write is very important for every student because writing is one of the best ways to develop an ability to use language. Improving writing skills cannot be done by learning theory alone, but must be done through structured exercises to get maximum or good results. This research aims to describe the ability to write anecdotal texts of class X SMA Negeri 1 Bangkinang Kota students. This research method is field research presented in quantitative and qualitative descriptive form. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Bengkinang Kota. The research was conducted from September to November 2023. The population in this study was 404 class X students at SMA Negeri 1 Bangkinang Kota. The sampling technique in this research used the Slovin formula so that a sample of 78 students was obtained. The data collection technique in this research used an anecdote writing ability test instrument. The data analysis technique uses quantitative descriptive analysis. The research results obtained a minimum value of 37, a maximum value of 100, and an average of 75.77. Furthermore, of the 78 students, with a score in the very poor category there was 1 student (1.28%), less than 12 students (15.38%),
enough with a score of 17 students (21.79%), good totaling 23 students (29, 49%), and very good amounted to 25 students (32.05%).
