EFISIENSI METATHESIS FILTER TERHADAP LOSS CHEMICAL PADA ACID SALTCAKE DI NON-INTEGRATED CLO2/ERCO PLANT

Non-Integrated ClO2 is one of the ClO2 production methods used in the chemical plant
department. This method utilizes raw materials purchased from external parties, thus
the consumption of raw materials needs to be closely monitored. The metathesis filter
is one of the equipment and processes used in Non-Integrated ClO2. The metathesis
filter functions to reduce the amount of solid formed continuously in the generator.
However, in the process, there is always a chemical loss which can lead to an increase
in raw material consumption due to the decrease in liquor generator
concentration.This research aims to determine the efficiency of the metathesis filter by
measuring the amount of chemical loss tested in the lab. Additionally, it aims to assess
the equipment's feasibility based on the efficiency values obtained. Factors affecting
the efficiency of the metathesis filter include Vacuum Ejector, Pressure Hydroclone,
and Pressure Washing Hot Water. The experimental results showed the highest
chlorate efficiency at 96.08% and the lowest at 83.6%. Meanwhile, the highest acid
efficiency was obtained at 87.08% and the lowest at 82.82%. The efficiency values
obtained from this experiment indicate good equipment performance and that it is still
suitable for use. This research also states that the vacuum ejector is the most influential
variable on the efficiency of the metathesis filter
