PRARANCANGAN PABRIK DIPHENYLAMINE DARI ANILINE DENGAN DISAIN ALAT UTAMA MIXER (M-101)
Diphenylamine is a solid crystalline organic compound with the chemical formula
(C6H5)2NH. Diphenylamine is a derivative of aniline, where the amine is capped by
two phenyl groups. Diphenylamine is used as a dye fixative, an ingredient in
medicines, as a product preservative in the agricultural industry, as an explosive, and
as a fragrance in the cosmetics industry. The manufacture of diphenylamine at this
factory uses an alkylation process (aniline vapor phase conversion process which
forms diphenylamine and ammonia) with a production capacity of 10,000 tons/year,
with aniline as the raw material. The process of making diphenylamine from aniline
is a gas phase reaction. This process occurs in a fixed bed multitube reactor, where
the aniline raw material in the form of gas is introduced from the bottom of the
reactor simultaneously with the help of an aluminum oxide catalyst in the form of a
solid. This plant will be established in Sanggau District, West Kalimantan. The plant
operation runs 24 hours/day for 330 days in each year, and the employee work
system is shift and non-shift based on the division of working hours. Based on the
results of the plant economic feasibility analysis, this isopropyl alcohol plant is
feasible with a PBP value of 1.044 years, IRR of 22.753%, ROI of 77.107%, and BEP
of 30%.
