PRARANCANGAN PABRIK ASAM AKRILAT PROSES OKSIDASI DENGAN DESAIN ALAT UTAMA KOLOM DISTILASI ASAM AKRILAT (T-103)
Acrylic acid is an important chemical in the industrial world because acrylic acid
is an intermediate chemical that is widely used in industrial production processes
and consumer products. Acrylic acid is mainly used as a raw material in the
manufacture of acrylic esters, as a monomer for polyacrylic acid and its salts, as
a comonomer for use as a flocculent and ion exchange resin polymer. The main
raw materials used in the production of acrylic acid are propylene and oxygen.
The selected process used for the production of acrylic acid from propylene is
propylene oxidation. The factory being established will operate for 330 days per
year and work continuously 24 hours/day with a capacity of 60,000 tons/year
which will be established in Cilegon, Banten Province, Indonesia. The company
form applied is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a line and staff
organization system. The employee work system is based on the division of
working hours consisting of shift and non-shift employees. The main equipment
design in this factory is an acrylic acid distillation column (T-103) which
functions to separate a mixture of acrylic acid and propylene. This acrylic acid
distillation column (T-103) is operated at a pressure of 18.72 psi with a
temperature of 388 K. Economic analysis of the factory shows that the factory is
feasible to build. With a Break Even Point (BEP) value of 53.97%, Payback
Period (PBP) of 3.113 years, Rate of Investment (ROI) of 32.12%, and Internal
Rate of Return (IRR) of 22.746%.
