PRARANCANGAN PABRIK POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE (PET) DARI ETILEN GLIKOL DAN ASAM TEREFTALAT DENGAN DESAIN ALAT UTAMA REAKTOR POLIKONDENSASI (R-103)
Polyethylene terephthalate (abbreviated as PET, PETE or formerly PETP, PETP) is a thermoplastic plastic polymer resin of the polyester group. The process of
making polyethylene terephthalate at this factory uses a direct esterification
process (TA process). The raw materials used are ethylene glycol, terephthalic
acid and antimony trioxide catalysts. The established plant will operate for 330
days per year and work continuously for 24 hours with a capacity of 174,000
tons/year. The factory will be established in Serang Regency, Banten Province.
The form of the company applied is a Limited Liability Company (PT). The
employee work system is based on the division of working hours consisting of shift
and non-shift employees. The main equipment design of the factory designed is a
polycondensation reactor (R-130) which functions to increase the degree of
polymerization, namely polyethylene terephthalate (PET) (C10H8O4)20 to PET
(C10H8O4)100. The reactor operates at vacuum pressure. Economic analysis of
factories shows that factories are worth establishing. With a Break Even Point
(BEP) value of 44%, Pay Out Time (POT) for 3,1 years, Rate of Investment (ROI)
of 36,80%, and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 22,63%.
