RINGKASAN EKSEKUTIF PRARANCANGAN PABRIK T-BUTYL ALCOHOL DARI ISOBUTEN DAN AIR DENGAN DESAIN ALAT UTAMA FLASH DRUM (FD-101)
T-Butyl Alcohol was one of the four isomers of Butanol which was also known by
the name of t-Butyl Alcohol, 2-Methyl-2-Propanol, Trimethyl Carbinol, often
abbreviated by the name TBA and has the molecular formula C4H9OH. The
process of making t-butyl alcohol was carried out by reacting isobutene and water
added to the dowex 50 catalyst in the reactor and separated on a flash drum (FD-
101). This factory will be established in the Cilegon area, Banten with a capacity
of 330,000 tons/year. The operation of the factory runs 24 hours/day and the work
system of shift and non-shift employees was based on the division of working
hours. Based on the results of the economic feasibility analysis of the factory, this
t-butyl alcohol factory was feasible to establish with a PBP value of 2.8 years, an
IRR of 22.76%, an ROI of 36%, and a BEP of 30%.
