Karakteristik Morfologi Udang Galah (Macrobrachium Rosenbergii Dacqueti) Di Sungai Kembung Dan Sungai Jangkang, Pulau Bengkalis
Giant prawns are distributed throughout the tropical and subtropical zones of the world, including in Southeast Asia, such as Indonesia, including two rivers on Bengkalis Island; Kembung River and Jangkang River. Its wide distribution results in variations in some of its morphological characters because morphological characters are related to the habitat and water conditions it occupies. This study aims to compare the morphological characters of giant prawns between males and giant prawns between females in two rivers on Bengkalis Island. This study used a survey method with the number of samples taken as many as 10 individuals in each river, consisting of 5 male and 5 female individuals, obtained from fishermen. The observed characters consisted of 15 morphometric characters and five meristic characters. Morphometric character data were tested using the t test. The results showed that there were no differences in morphological characters of giant prawns between males and king prawns between females in Kembung River and Jangkang River, Bengkalis Island.
