Komposisi Hasil Tangkapan Jaring Apung Nelayan Di (UPTD) Pelabuhan Perikanan Wilayah I Provinsi Sumatera Barat
This study was conducted from February 26 to March 8, 2024, at the UPTD Pelabuhan Perikanan Wilayah I, West Sumatra. The objective of the research was to determine the composition of the catch in terms of weight, individual count, and the methods of capture. The study employed a survey method, which was then analyzed descriptively using tables and graphs. The floating net construction lacks weights and a bottom line, causing the net to remain on the water's surface. The research was conducted at night over two fishing trips. The results show that the composition of the floating net catches at UPTD Pelabuhan Perikanan Wilayah I, West Sumatra, amounted to a total weight of 709.4 kg and 2,981 individual fish. Ten fish species were caught, with the composition being 74.99% main catch, 24.99% bycatch, and 0% discard by weight, and 82.99% main catch, 16.99% bycatch, and 0% discard by individual count. Most fish were caught entangled, indicating that the net did not stretch properly due to the lack of weights and bottom line.
