Uji Konsentrasi Buah Bintaro (Cerbera Manghas L.) Terhadap Mortalitas Spodoptera Exigua Hubner. Bawang Merah (Allium Ascalonicum L.) Di Laboratorium
Shallot(Allium ascalonicumL.)is oneof the horticultural plants used as aseasoning for dishes and is useful as a traditional medicine. From an economic point of view, shallot have a high value for the people of Indonesia. Efforts to increase shallot production are still constrained by pest attacks. Spodoptera exigua Hubner. is one of the main pests in shallot cultivation. S. exigua infestation can cause yield losses and losses of up to 57%, if the infestation is severe it will cause crop failure. The bintaro plant (Cerbera manghas L.) has potential as a safe pesticide to control S. exigua. This study aims to obtain the concentration of bintaro fruit extract that is effective against S. exigua mortality. The research was conducted at the Plant Pest Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, from January to March 2024, using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 6 treatments and 4 replicates. The treatments were bintaro fruit extract concentrations of 0 g.l-1, 20 g.l-1, 40 g.l-1, 60 g.l-1, 80 g.l-1, and 100 g.l-1 with water solvent. The results showed that the application of several concentrations of bintaro fruit extract had a significant effect on the death of S. exigua. Bintaro fruit extract concentration of 100 g.l-1 water is an effective concentration for controlling S. exigua larvae because it can cause total mortality of 85% with an initial time of death of 11.25 hours after application and Lethal time 50 at 59.25 hours after application.
