Deiksis Dalam Pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia Di Kelas VIII SMPN 6 Kelayang Kecamatan Kelayang Kabupaten Indragiri Hulu
This study aims to identify and describe the types and functions of deixis in Indonesian language learning for eighth-grade students at SMPN 6 Kelayang, Kelayang District, Indragiri Hulu Regency. This research adopts a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques used are the Uninvolved Conversation Observation Technique (SBLC), recording, and note-taking. The data source comprises teacher and student utterances during the Indonesian language learning process in the eighth grade at SMPN 6 Kelayang. The findings reveal five types of deixis: personal, spatial, temporal, discourse, and social. The functions of personal deixis include referring to the speaker, the interlocutor, and the referent. Spatial deixis functions to indicate locations close to or distant from the speaker. Temporal deixis refers to time before, during, or after the utterance. Discourse deixis points to previously mentioned or upcoming information, while social deixis serves as a marker of social distinctions between the speaker and the interlocutor.
