Prarancangan Pabrik Asam Adipat Proses Oksidasi Sikloheksana Dengan Desain Alat Utama Menara Distilasi Sikloheksana (T-301)
ABSTRACT
Adipic acid is commonly used in the textile and plastic industries. The purpose of
the Adipic Acid Plant is to meet the domestic demand for adipic acid and
minimize the import of adipic acid, create new jobs, and encourage the
establishment of new factories that use adipic acid as raw material. Adipic acid is
produced through an oxidation process with the main raw materials being
cyclohexane and oxygen. The process takes place in a bubble reactor at 139°C
and 3 atm pressure which produces KA Oil. KA Oil is then reacted with nitric
acid to produce adipic acid. The process took place in a CSTR reactor at 90°C
and 3 atm pressure. Adipic acid as the main product is separated and purified
using an evaporator, and then crystallized using a crystallizer. The resulting
adipic acid solids are dried using a rotary drum filter to obtain 99% purity. The
Adipic Acid Plant is planned to operate for 330 days per year and work
continuously for 24 hours/day. Work in one day is divided into three shifts and
each shift works for 8 hours. This plant has a capacity of 52,000 tons/year which
will be established in Bekasi City. The direct oxidation process was chosen
because of the affordable price of raw materials, the process is not extreme, and
the purity of the adipic acid product produced is high. The economic analysis in
this plant design shows a Net Present Value (NPV) of Rp285,597,851,518.87, Pay
Back Period (PBP) of 3.84 years, Rate of Investment (ROI) of 26.001%, Interest
Rate of Return (IRR) of 22.742%, and Break Event Point (BEP) of 20.27%. Based
on the analysis of process and economic conditions, the Adipic Acid Plant is
feasible and has good prospects.
