The formulation of the problem in this research is what are the steps for developing a child-friendly village library in Sibuak Village, Tapung District, Kampar Regency? This research aims to find out what are the steps for developing a child-friendly village library in Sibuak Village, Tapung District, Kampar Regency. This research has 3 research indicators, namely 1) library facilities and infrastructure, 2) library collections, 3) human resources for library managers.
Once this research is carried out, it is hoped that it will provide benefits. The benefits of this research are divided into two, namely theoretical benefits and practical benefits. It is hoped that the theoretical benefits of the results of this research can provide input for the world of education or economics and science in general in the field of public education and can add insight into science regarding the development of child-friendly village libraries in Sibuak Village, Tapung District, Kampar Regency. And it is hoped that the practical benefits of the results of this research will be useful for owners, the community and future researchers.
This research is a type of qualitative research with a qualitative descriptive method. This research was carried out in the village library in Sibuak Village, Tapung District, Kampar Regency involving 5 informants as research subjects. The data collection techniques used in this research are document techniques, observation and interviews. Meanwhile, analysis in research includes data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and triangulation.
Based on data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded from this research that the steps to develop a child-friendly library in Sibuak Village are implementing a good development strategy for children's services. Where this viable service development strategy is carried out using Promotion and Socialization Methods. Where promotions are carried out using brochures and also utilizing Instagram. Meanwhile, librarians carried out socialization by informing them that the child-friendly library in Sibuak Village provides special services for children called Kids Corner. Where in the management of child-friendly services there are 4 types of activities in the form of children's service collections, storytelling, reading guidance services, and game services.
The community's response to the development of a child-friendly library in Sibuak Village is related to the quality of the Sibuak Village library which is sufficient to meet the requirements of being a child-friendly village library in Sibuak Village. In this research, the community's response was seen through assessing the quality of the development of the Sibuak Village library, there are three main assessments seen from Tangibles or physical evidence of a child-friendly village library in Sibuak, reliability or dependability in services for child-friendly development in the Sibuak Village library and responsiveness of catchment capacity of child-friendly village library services in Sibuak.
Then, the supporting and inhibiting factors for the development of child-friendly village libraries in Sibuak include the presence of broken toys, difficulties in procuring digital library materials, lots of unfavorable comments from outside and lack of direct socialization to children if there is any information available. spread via social media.
