Nilai Taksonomi Stomata Pada Jenis-Jenis Myrtaceae Di Universitas Riau
Myrtaceae is one of the major family of woody plants. This family has high morphological variation that can cause taxonomic problems. Stomatal characteristic is one of supporting evidence in taxonomic studies. This study aims to determine the taxonomic value of stomata in Myrtaceae species at Riau University area. Sampling was done using the exploration method. The methods used in stomatal preparations are replica and paradermal incision methods. Stomatal characteristics were described and scored. The cluster analysis was conducted using the NTSys program. A total of 14 species of Myrtaceae were identified in this study. The results showed amphistomatic distribution type in two species and hypostomatic distribution type in 12 other species with kidney-shaped guard cells. Character variations of stomata were found in size, number, density, index, stomatal type, and number of subsidiary cells. The similarity coefficient values based on 20 stomatal characters ranged from 0.30-0.95. The stomatal characteristics found in this study provide important evidence for taxonomic studies of Myrtaceae species.
