Isolasi Dan Identifikasi Senyawa Alkaloid Dari Batang Monstera Deliciosa Liebm Serta Uji Toksisitas Menggunakan Metode Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT)
Monstera deliciosa Liebm is a tropical plant belonging to the Araceae family which originates from tropical rainforests in Central America. M. Deliciosa contains secondary metabolite compounds such as alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, steroids and phenolics which have quite good anticancer, antibacterial and antioxidant activity. This research aims to isolate and characterize alkaloid compounds as well as test the toxicity of alkaloid extracts from M. deliciosa stems. The sample extraction process was carried out using the maceration method using methanol solvent, then partitioning using n-hexane solvent and alkaloid isolation using acid-base partitioning using ethyl acetate solvent. The alkaloid extract was fractionated using gravity column chromatography to obtain 12 combined fractions. Fraction 7 obtained a brownish white precipitate of 6.8 mg and was labeled MD-F7. The purity of the compound was analyzed using thin layer chromatography (TLC) and the melting point test was obtained at 272-274oC. Compound MD-F7 was characterized using UV-Vis spectroscopy and FTIR. The UV-Vis spectrum shows maximum absorption at a wavelength of 206 nm with an absorbance of 0.811, while the FTIR spectrum shows absorption at wave numbers 3361 cm-1 (NH), 2869-2932 cm-1 (aliphatic CH), 1465 cm-1 (CH2), 1367 cm-1 (CH3), 1167 cm-1 (CN) and 1054-1073 cm-1 (CO). The results of the alkaloid extract toxicity test obtained an LC50 value of 2.49 ppm which is very toxic.
